This is the final stone I cut from the 27ct Afghani tourmaline. As I mentioned, someone at the Hobnob dropped the parcel from his eye level to the floor. What had been quite a clean stone blossomed with little inclusions. The finished stone is only 4.4cts. I initially cut an 8.9 ct stone but the inclusions were distracting so I recut it. This is a teeny stone, and a simple round brilliant but I love the colour. It’s from the previous Tanzania trip and I was told is Loliondo. The colour is more golden than the standard yellow.
