Jeffrey Hunt supplied a large, deep purple amethyst to me to cab or facet how I saw fit. It was obvious there were some flaws to work around, but hiding in the interior were these very interesting inclusions. This stone was the largest faceted stone I could manage, and it’s a gorgeous deep royal purple. Occasionally you can see the strands of inclusions reflecting back as well.
The lower photo I took in order to showcase the inclusions. The upper photo was taken by Jeffrey Hunt and managed to capture the robotic face of Optimus Prime! Apparently I’m able to channel these visions into the stone, as with a previous zircon I cut Jeffrey caught the image of Hunter S. Thompson.
