There are many ways to get involved with the Green Gem Foundation but first and foremost, a purchase of our showcase jewelry, gemstones and gem rough is a direct donation and helps us immensely. All proceeds are applied towards projects. In some cases for example, specific gemstones will fund specific projects.

Here are a few other ideas below.

 

1. A purchase though Green Gem is a direct donation.

We are not giving back 10% or 20% after profits as is the norm in the industry, the entire sale price is applied to building community. Not through loans, but outright grants.

 

2. Give a gift of time and materials, or designed jewelry for sale through Green Gem.

All items in this category need to be a gift in entirety. Eventual sales then fund projects. Why the total gift? Green Gem is establishing a new model of sourcing stones that helps to keep more wealth in the source country. It’s a simple standard that insures legitimacy.

In some cases jewelry designers may have use of our showcase stones to feature in jewelry.

 

3. Donate a percentage of specific jewelry or gemstones sales back to the foundation.

All sales items like this go through the individual seller.

 

4. Give us Cash.

Of course. We are a tax exempt organization and moving towards complete tax deductable status.

 

5. Feature our showcase gems and jewelry at an in-store event.

All sales and purchases though specific venues will go a long way towards helping and spreading the word about the Green Gem standard among your clientele. If you are a buyer you will benefit from seeing our projects and showcase gems up front and center. The goal is to establish a direct connection to the stone – this includes the seller on the ground in the source country. In some cases other Green Gem member designers and subscribers may feature our individual items at this type of event. Wholesale rates apply of course.

 

6. Organize a Green Gem Foundation Gemshow – fundraiser.

7. Faceting Donations

If you are a faceter we always welcome this type of very crucial gift of time and talent! This also qualifies you preview opportunities for all material available through Green Gem.

 

8. Donation of Gem Rough by miners or brokers

All revenues from rough sales go right back to the country of origin in the form of projects. In some cases the donated rough will be custom faceted by our members increasing the overall value. The miners and brokers and gem materials are clearly identified and promoted with exceptional photography. Green Gem Foundation does not sell cut gems or gem rough on commission but sales will clearly promote our subscribers, designers and donors at in store events and through the web site. A donation of gem rough simply helps to gain quicker access to the worldwide market outside the commercial cutting house buyers. Direct relationships with jewelry designers and artists and even the consumer will be fully encouraged and promoted.
