This is a beautiful piece of rhodalite garnet from Kenya. The rough was obtained from a Kenyan dealer and faceted by myself in a design by Marco Voltolini. The checkerboard crown provides a great deal of brilliance with the brilliant style pavilion creating flashes of color whenever the stone is moved. The stone measures 11.46 x 7.82 x 6mm and is eye clean.

There is one mine in the US that produces spessartite garnets. The rough is extremely hard to get but when you do the color is amazing to see. This piece has the normal inclusions that spessartite can have but the color more than makes up for it! A picture of the rough gem was given to show a before and after look.

The original piece of rough for this gemstone was 39 carats. The piece of rough was preformed by nature to a perfect oval shape. Cutting time was 7 hours. This is the type of gemstones I love to cut. Big, clean and beautiful! I included a shot of the piece of rough to compare the rough and finished shapes and colors.

This is a 16 carat Nigerian pink tourmaline. The piece was cut from a 55 carat pink and green tourmaline. The green section of the gemstone was included so I chose to remove it and only facet the pink section. Total cutting time was 8.5 hours. The final gem is a great work of art and a piece worthy of any collection.

This is a custom cut JXR (Jackson Crossroads) Amethyst. I cut this gem from a 7 carat piece of rough. The stone has the typical grape jelly color of jackson crossroads amethyst. There are minor inclusions in the stone but do not take away from the overall appearance. I included a picture of the piece of rough for comparison.

Tanzania Rhodolite Garnet 4.98 ct

This rhodalite was cut from a 13.3 carat piece of rough. The rough was flawless and had a color saturation that was delicate compared with most rhodalite on the market. The finished gemstone has bright flashes of pink, purple and red which light up any room the gem is in.
